About the Conference

Chicago Women’s History Center worked in partnership with Black Metropolis Research Consortium (BMRC), Evanston History Center and Women & Leadership Archives at Loyola University Chicago to host the conference on Saturday March 22, 2025. We had additional sponsors of WILPF U.S., Skyline Village, Chicago Hyde Park Village and Lake Forest College who supported eighteen scholarship places for early-career student historians, researchers and writers to attend the conference. The Keynote Presentation was by Jamila Woods followed by one day of fifteen panels, presentations, roundtables, and workshops from 9:30am - 5:00pm finishing with a plenary performance by Pinqy Ring and her mentees who created a responsive poem in reflection of the day.

The scholarship attendees are engaged in the documentation process of the Conference and these will be shared with the community via a blog on the website.. .
