In our second partnership with Chicago Opera Theater we are presenting an exhibition to accompany their opera called She Who Dared. This ground-breaking opera shares the story of the women's collective in Montgomery, AL who worked to desegregate the city's bus system in the 1950s, before Rosa Park's historic bus protest. The opera will be presented in the Studebaker Theater in the Fine Arts Building, June 3 to 8th, with a reception for CWHC active members at the Chicago Women's History Center after the matinee performance on June 8. CWHC will be creating an accompanying exhibition sharing the work of women involved in the Civil Rights Movement in Chicago.
